A Joyous and Memorable Day: Bishop’s Visit, Mass, and Groundbreaking

On January 21, 2025, Urafiki Carovana School had the honor of hosting His Grace, Archbishop Philip Anyolo, for a day filled with faith, joy, and community spirit. The atmosphere was electric, as students, teachers, parents, and esteemed guests gathered to welcome the Bishop and celebrate this historic occasion.

A Grand Welcome

The day began with a warm and vibrant reception as the Bishop arrived at the school gates. Our talented dancers put on an exhilarating performance, setting the tone for the day’s celebrations. The Bishop was then presented with flowers as a token of appreciation and guided through our school, stopping to admire the portrait of Cardinal Otunga and sign the visitors’ book.

A Procession Like No Other

Led by a spirited scout band, the Bishop was escorted to the main field, where the entire school community awaited him. The excitement was palpable as the sounds of music and cheers filled the air, creating an unforgettable welcome.

A Spiritually Uplifting Mass

Once in the sacristy, the Bishop prepared for the Holy Mass, which brought together over 1,000 members of our school and church community. The choir’s melodious hymns echoed beautifully, enhancing the solemnity and spiritual essence of the moment. The Mass was a time of reflection, unity, and blessings, reminding us of the strength of our faith and the mission of our school—Building the Kingdom of God through Education.

The Groundbreaking Ceremony

Following the final blessing, the Bishop proceeded to the highlight of the day—the groundbreaking ceremony for our upcoming project. With prayers and blessings, he inaugurated the site, marking the beginning of an exciting development for our school. A caterpillar roared to life, symbolizing progress and the bright future ahead.

A Special Gift and Celebration

To honor the Bishop’s visit, he was presented with a special gift—a goat, a gesture deeply rooted in our tradition and appreciation. This was followed by a well-organized lunch at the gazebo for the invited guests, providing a chance to reflect on the day’s success and share in the joy of the occasion.

Gratitude and Looking Ahead

The day would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the organizing team, teachers, students, and all those who played a role in making it a success. From the decorated tents and well-coordinated ushering to the powerful performances and well-planned logistics, everything came together perfectly.

As we move forward, this day will remain etched in our hearts as a symbol of faith, unity, and progress. We are grateful for the Bishop’s visit and the blessings that came with it. Here’s to many more milestones ahead!
